Youth Ministries
We partner with parents, grandparents, and guardians in a very important task — raising the next generation of believers and servants. Brunswick United Methodist is committed to offering children's programs that nurture kids' souls. Our dynamic Education Team uses a wide variety of activities, mission projects, arts and crafts, and personal discipleship to help children learn the fundamentals of the Christian faith with the goal of developing a strong spiritual foundation and a sense of belonging in the community of faith.
For more information about each of our programs, we invite you to read through the descriptions below:
Sunday School
We offer Sunday School classes each Sunday morning for children and youth ages Preschool through 5th grade. Classes meet during the regular morning worship hour, roughly from 10:15-11AM. Children will start in the Sanctuary with their parents. About 15 minutes into the service, they will be invited to come up front with the Pastor for a children's moment. Our enthusiastic Education Team will then lead them to the Sunday school and provide fun kids' programming throughout the year, including Christmas and Valentine's Day parties. We also sponsor an annual Easter Egg Hunt and a Trunk-or-Treat event that is popular with the whole community. During summer months students and teachers enjoy a holiday — older children join parents, guardians and grandparents in the worship service, while younger children (PreK-5th grade) enjoy Children's Church consisting of a Bible Story and a simple craft or other hands-on activity.
Vacation Bible School
Generally, we hold VBS the second week of July from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Kid Videos, Bible stories, singing, science experiments, games, and crafts, and loads of laughs ensure a memorable week for all who attend. Contact the church office for more information about VBS.
Kidz Connect
A mid-week evening program for grades pre-K through 5th grade. Kidz Connect is the highlight of the week for many children. We start the evening watching a YouTube video that is tied to the bible story for the night. Then move to a hands-on activity like a craft or science project, and then time playing indoor or outside games. The kids have fun making connections with each other while connecting with Jesus. Come Connect with Us!
Youth Group and Youth Missions
Brunswick United Methodist Youth are active as they learn about the love of Christ. Of course, they get together for fun activities such as: trips to Cedar Point, pumpkin carving, girls retreats, Scene 75, and overnighters. They go on an annual home repair mission trip where they provide service to a community in need. Pictures from their trip in June to Augusta, Georgia are below. Contact the Church Office for more information and to learn about upcoming events.
