Hiking club

The Brunswick United Methodist Hiking Club is a fellowship group for hikers of all ages. We offer hikes of varying difficulty to meet the interests and abilities of all hikers. Through our outings we grow closer to God by enveloping ourselves in creation. Join us for an upcoming activity!

General Hike Procedures

Unless otherwise noted, we will meet at the trailhead. If you would like to attend an event and need a ride, please contact Chris Chidsey to arrange car pooling.

Sign-up
Please RSVP for each event you plan on attending. You can sign the sheet located at the Welcome Center, or contact Chris Chidsey via e-mail or phone. We will watch for all those signed up at the trailhead before we begin. If you decide at the last minute to attend and you didn't sign up, please come anyway! We welcome you!

Bad Weather
If there are storms threatening, the hike will be canceled.
If the weather is questionable otherwise, please decide on your own. If you have signed up and decide you will stay home, please call, e-mail, or text Chris Chidsey. If enough people decide the weather is too bad, the hike will be canceled and all the remaining hikers on the list will be called.

rambling roses

Rambling Roses is our new women’s social group which will meet the first Tuesday of each month for an afternoon activity. Our mission is to have fun while getting to know one another better. The group is member-driven with individual members graciously planning activities for all to attend. Most activities will be held outside of the church. Activities will include luncheons, coffee-time, musical and theater performances, museums, game playing, crafting, picnics to name a few. We will also be hosting some evening events throughout the year. All women are welcome. Come once or come every month! Activities will appear in the Sunday bulletin as soon as we know what they are. If you are interested in our group or have an activity idea call Debbie Vargo 330-242-3467.

Get ready for spring and come shopping with us on April 11th. The Rambling Roses will be meeting at the church at 10:30 am to carpool to Petiti Garden Center in Strongsville. It's always more fun to shop with friends and then afterwards go to Jennifer's Restaurant for lunch. Please call Linda Olsen to RSVP or with questions at 330-225-6242

Music

Chancel Choir

The mission of the Chancel Choir is to enhance the worship service through music by singing and giving glory to God. Under the direction of  Choir Director, Chris Chidsey, this well-established, fun-loving adult group meets weekly to sing and expand its large repertoire of Christian music, from traditional favorites to upbeat contemporary songs. The group also sings at special services and for special events. The choir sings an anthem, introit and closing response weekly in fall, winter and spring, and helps lead the congregation in song from the chancel area during the 10:00 AM  worship service.
